About Me

Hello, I'm Morty

I am a psychotherapist, writer, educator and artist living in Los Angeles, CA.

I was born and raised in Southern California. Before becoming a therapist, I traveled many other paths: film director, sex educator, and writer. All of these passions still exist within me and I spend considerable time working on my poetry, short stories and various new projects.

I hold a BA in Sociology from UC Berkeley and a Masters in Social Work from San Francisco State University. While studying at UC Berkeley, I was the recipient of the Haas Scholar grant, which allowed me to conduct research on the ways in which access to public health care has changed social conditions for the transgender community in San Francisco.

Land acknowledgement: I recognize and acknowledge I live and work on the land of the Chumash, Tongva, and Kizh nations. I give thanks for the opportunity to live and work on their traditional homeland. Indigenous people continue to live and thrive and I assist by making a regular contribution to First Nations Development Institute (https://www.firstnations.org).

My Work

I am passionate about making connections with people. Sometimes it is not a good fit between a myself and a client. In these cases, I will assist in finding services that better suit your needs.
